I .S. Sri Naresh, Director Of Handloom & Textiles and Development Commissioner for Apparel Export Parks AP Hyd in an exclusive at the National Handloom Expo-2010. National Handloom Expo is held once a year. Because of accumulated stocks in the whole country the govt of India has decided to hold it twice a year. This year we have another handloom expo that will be in Vizag in the month of December, before Sankranti. The idea of this exhibition is to showcase the products across the country. We have 17 states represented in the stalls here. The idea is to sell all these products through the handloom exhibition. Our target is around 5 crore. This year the sale will be good as it is culminating with the Dusshera & Diwali festival. Our focus is on pure handlooms so that the genuine weaver gets his due wages. In AP our target through these sales is Rs 63 crore.
