K. Venkateshwara Rao, Manager, Lepakshi Handicrafts Emporium, Gunfoundry, Abids Road, Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh. Lepakshi Handicrafts Emporium was established in 1982 by the Government of Andhra Pradesh. The main objective of this emporium is to provide employment to the Handi crafts people who are well versed in making all sorts of articles. This provides a best platform to showcase all their sarees, articles and many other products. There are totally 16 handicrafts emporiums in our state. Two more showrooms are placed in other states. There is a good demand from the people regarding all the shows, expos, exhibitions conducted by Lepakshi. Many exhibitions are going to be held in all major districts to create awareness among the people in the field of handicrafts. A wide array of handicrafts, soft-toys, showpiece items made of brass, white metal, terracotta, stone work, wood carvings and toys; sarees in all varieties, handlooms bearing a stamp of unique beauty are on sale.
