Prof. Dr.-Ing. Matthias Kleiner, President, Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG, German Research Foundation), Bangalore, Karnataka. This DFG is the central self governing research funding organisation responsible for promoting basic research in Germany. The DFG actively encourages international collaboration between researchers in all its funding programmes. This self-organisation is funded by Germany’s federal 16 state governments. This DFG funds top-level research in all branches of science & humanities. We support individuals and projects that have been judged outstanding in a competitive peer-review process. There is a great network of funding agencies and the funding decisions are made up of researchers & govt.representatives. India is very good partner for us and we possess office in New Delhi.
