Experience Hyderabad’s at its Finest at Charminar: When movies and series portray Hyderabad, the first thing that appears on visuals is the beautiful four exquisitely built towers known as ‘Minars’. The monument is none other than the infamous Charminar boasting its history and the faith of Lakhs of people. The Charminar was built in the year 1591, by the fifth ruler of the Qutb Shahi dynasty, Muhammad Quil Qutb Shah. Although, the clock at the centre of the mosque was installed by the 16th Nizam, Mir Mahbub Ali Khan.

Charminar now is no longer just a religious site, it has a host of activities that will excite any person of any age. The first and the best yet attraction is Café Nimrah, adjacent to Charminar. A must-visit café and bakery, buzzing with people who are looking to catch up with friends and unwind; it is famous for its iconic Osmania biscuits and Irani Chai. You haven’t tried Hyderabad, if you haven’t tried Café Nimrah. In fact, it was this café that popularized the Osmania biscuit named after the ruler, Mir Osman Ali Khan. The café extends its service to the outside of the café as well where certain tables are placed and a few waiters from the café bring you tea and cookies.

The Laad Bazaar, yet another spot for people, is the Charminar market that ranges in a variety of jewelry, clothes, and more importantly, bangles. The Laad Bazaar has a host of vendors who sell jewelry, clothes and bangles, fragrances, perfumes, and other fancy items for a very reasonable price. One very unavoidable vendor is a man who sells mini perfumes known as “Ittar” whose smell is undeniably noticeable by people around you. The best part is that the vendor has been in this business for many years now and all the recipes of the fragrances have been passed down generations in his family.
