The AATMNIRBHAR BHARAT packaged announced by the central government will benefit MSMEs and Women entrepreneurs reaching out to 6.85 crore households said Says Mrs. Vijaya Ratatkar, the BJP Parliamentary board member during The Federation of Telangana Chambers of Commerce and Industry ( FTCCI ) Webinar– Challenges of Women Entrepreneurs, Start-ups, NGOs, Self Help Groups (SHG)
Mrs. Vijaya Ratatkar said Aatmnirbhar Bharat Mission, many sectors have been benefited . The package consist of several schemes, in which women have been specially emphasized through SFURTI, MSE-CDP, E-MARKET Linkage for Trade Fair Schemes of Ministry of MSME, START-UP, STAND-UP Scheme of Ministry of Commerce & Industry as well as Formalization of MFE recently launched under Ministry of Food Processing Industries and so on in which women entrepreneurs have been benefited to get subsidized interest loans/ less own contribution/ easy market approach and skill innovation.
The state of Telangana State government had taken up several schemes for the welfare, empowerment and safety of women in the State. Telangana State Government is cautiously taking steps to provide business opportunities and better support to Women Entrepreneurs. TREAD, Mahila Udhyam Nidhi, Mudra yojna, Bharitya Mahila Business Bank, Annapurna Schemes are very much relevant and beneficial for women entrepreneurs in Telangana in large.
During this Covid-19 times, a total of 65,936 SHG members from 14,522 SHGs are involved and together they have manufactured 132 lakh masks till now. SGH in states like Telangana , Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, and Kerala are performing big role in producing masks and personal protective equipment (PPEs), organizing awareness camps on Covid-19 protection and also delivering essentials goods & financial assistance to the most vulnerable.
Over 4.5 lakh women are enrolled with 45,000 SHGs in Telangana. The municipal corporation has roped in women from over 200 SHGs, who are trained in tailoring to stitch the face masks. They are stitching 30000 masks on daily basis.
Women Self Help Groups in Telangana are continuously working upon to the extraordinary challenge of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic. As per Govt initiatives, thousands of women, who are members of about 200 self-help groups (SHGs) functioning under the aegis of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, are making re-usable masks and doing their bit in curtailing the spread of coronavirus. All these masks are being distributed to the 20,000 sanitary workers and about 2,500 Swachh auto drivers, who collect garbage from households on a priority basis.
CS Kanika Gupta, the MSME consultant, said that there are plenty of opportunities for women to start a business such as in the MSME sector, Agriculture, Food Processing Units, IT sector, Education sector, AYUSH, and Textile sector . Women entrepreneurs should know and avail Government initiatives specially helping them to start and run businesses, she added.
